The National Workers Union (NWU) is warning the public to brace for possible disruptions in their water supply because workers of the National Water Commission (NWC) could be going on strike.

The workers are demanding that the Commission honours an agreement to increase their salaries by seven percent.

NWU vice president, Granville Valentine, said the [color:eef1=blue! important][color:eef1=blue! important]employees</FONT></FONT> are not willing to entertain any further delay in the [color:eef1=blue! important][color:eef1=blue! important]payment</FONT></FONT> of their due increase.

He says the unions, which represent the workers including technical personnel, will be meeting with the employees today to decide on the course of action.

According to Mr Valentine, although the NWC is a quasi Government agency, the Administration has directed that it should hold back on the salary increase, like what obtains in the public sector.

Jamaicans that work in the private sector or citizens in General need to sit back and relax and thank GOD they have a job the Government does not have the money to honor any pay hike be real , come on its frustrating lets all figure how we going to move our country forward.Going on strike or bringing the country to a halt is not a part of the solution understand this all help is good ,whether its up or down. Lets unite and try to figure out whats best my GOD its so annoying too many ban waggonist in ja. nurses start it, then police ,then teachears come on this dont make no sense or cents.
